Kerri Cronk, FOX 13’s Good Day Utah anchor, became the victim of a hit-and-run accident on Friday evening. She was riding her bike near Hogle Zoo around 6 p.m. when a white car that was leaving the parking lot pulled out in front of her. Cronk did not have enough time to avoid a collision, and the vehicle drove off and left Kerri unconscious on the side of the road.

Although Bill Hubbard did not know the woman, he helped Kerri get emergency attention when he saw her in the road. Kerri received a broken neck, dislocated shoulder, a concussion, and several cuts and bruises from the hit-and-run accident. However, Kerri explains that the most devastating realization is that a driver left her without knowing if she was dead or alive.

Hit-and-Run Accident Reward Program

Even though drivers are required by law to remain at the scene of an incident, hit-and-run accidents have been on the rise since 2003. In fact, 1 in 5 pedestrians killed are victims of this type of accident. The victim of a hit-and-run is often too anxious or hurt to realize that a car may be driving away, which is why other witnesses can become so important.

This is why American personal injury attorneys have developed the Hit-and-Run Reward Program. Its goal is to provide witnesses an easy way to communicate important accident information. Witnesses can call the WeTip crime hotline, which is a neutral third-party organization, and share the accident information anonymously. No name or identification is asked for, but the caller will receive a code name in order to receive an award if the driver is arrested and convicted.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered by The Christensen Law Firm for information that leads to an arrest on conviction of a hit-and-run driver. If you have witnessed a hit-and-run call 1-800-644-8678.
