For 2014, this route is going to ran as a 1200 km permanent. Ideally, some day, it will be organized as a 1000 km brevet with a 200 km permanent tacked on the end, making it a 1200km event.

It covers varied terrain in both Utah and Arizona entering into three national parks, a national monument and a state park. The routes have been designed so that each day you visit at least one national park or monument. The main scenic part of each day is in the morning or mid-day, so you don’t miss out on the killer vista views by arriving during the evening hours.

There are no grades over about 9 or 10% on this route, but there are several long, continuous climbs. There are long sections, up to 40–45 miles with no water and even longer between services.

The cue sheet has detailed information on services including the hours of most c-stores. Water spigots are various parks or c-stores are also identified, as riding a 1200km may involve traveling at off hours to complete this ride.
